11+, Science, Maths
I am an experienced English tutor with a strong track record of helping KS3, GCSE/IGCSE, A-level, and 11+ students improve both their understanding and exam performance. I have been tutoring online for over 4 years, working with students across platforms such as Preply, Superprof, Britmates, and StudyPool, supporting learners at every level, from those building foundational skills to those aiming for top grades. I hold a TESOL certificate and a Preply Teaching Certificate. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), alongside an MA in English Literary Studies with Merit from the University of Exeter and a BA in English Honours from the University of Delhi.
My approach is structured, personalised, and always begins with a diagnostic conversation. I start by identifying exactly where a student is struggling, whether that is comprehension, essay structure, creative writing, or exam technique, and then build a clear, targeted plan around those specific gaps rather than working through the syllabus from scratch.
At GCSE and A level, I focus on what examiners are actually looking for: how to construct a well-reasoned argument, use textual evidence effectively, and write with precision under timed conditions. I have worked with students preparing for exams across multiple exam boards, adapting my teaching to the specific requirements of each. For 11+ students, I concentrate on comprehension passages, verbal reasoning, and the methodical reading approach that the exam rewards.
My background as a professional writer and editor gives me a practitioner’s eye for language that goes beyond the theoretical. I spot the same issues in a student’s essay that I would in a manuscript: where the logic slips, where the phrasing becomes vague, where an argument needs tightening. That translates into specific, actionable feedback that students can apply immediately.
I am committed to helping students not only improve their grades but also develop genuine confidence in their own abilities. My goal is for every student to leave each session with a clearer understanding of the material and the tools to approach it independently.
