How It Works
Finding the right tutor for your child should feel simple, transparent, and safe.
At The Centre for Education & Coaching (CEC), we’ve designed our platform to help you connect with experienced tutors in a way that works for your family.
Browse Tutors
Start by exploring our tutor listings.
You can:
-
Explore by subject (e.g. Maths, English, Science, 11+)
-
Choose the level (Primary, KS3, GCSE, A Level)
-
View individual tutor profiles
Each tutor profile includes:
-
Their experience and qualifications
-
Subjects and levels they teach
-
Lesson pricing
-
A personal bio and teaching approach
Take your time to find a tutor who feels like the right fit for your child.
Contact a Tutor
If you’d like to ask questions before booking, you can contact tutors directly.
This allows you to:
-
Discuss your child’s needs
-
Check availability
-
Clarify lesson structure or expectations
Building this initial connection can help ensure a strong working relationship.
Book a Lesson
Some tutors offer a “Book Now” option on their profile.
Where available, this allows you to:
-
Secure lessons instantly
-
Pay safely through the platform
-
Receive confirmation of your booking
All payments made through the platform are processed securely.
Why don’t all tutors have “Book Now”?
Not all tutors use the instant booking feature.
Some tutors prefer to:
-
Speak with families first
-
Agree on a plan before scheduling sessions
-
Manage their own bookings and payments
In these cases, you can contact the tutor directly to arrange lessons.
DBS & Safeguarding
Some tutors indicate that they hold a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
If this is shown on their profile:
-
You are welcome to request to see their DBS certificate directly
-
Tutors are expected to provide this upon request
We always recommend that parents carry out their own checks to ensure they feel fully comfortable.
Payments
When using the Book Now feature:
-
Payments are made securely through the platform
-
Pricing is clearly displayed on each tutor’s profile
For tutors who do not use Book Now:
-
Payment arrangements may be agreed directly with the tutor
Choosing the Right Tutor
Every child is different, so the “right” tutor isn’t just about qualifications.
We recommend considering:
-
Teaching style and personality
-
Experience with your child’s level
-
Communication and responsiveness
Our Role
CEC connects families with independent tutors.
While we carefully review tutor applications, tutors operate independently.
This gives you the flexibility to choose the tutor that best meets your needs.
