Tutor Terms and Conditions

1. About Us

 

The Centre for Education & Coaching (“CEC”) is a trading name of Collins Coaching and Consultancy.

CEC operates as an online platform connecting tutors with parents and students.

2. Tutor Status

 

By joining CEC, you confirm that you are acting as an independent contractor.

 

You are responsible for:

 

• your own tax and National Insurance obligations

• maintaining appropriate insurance (where applicable)

• complying with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements

 

CEC does not employ tutors and does not provide employment benefits.

3. Tutor Plans & Subscriptions

 

CEC offers different tutor plans which may include features such as:

 

• profile visibility

• “Book Now” functionality

• enhanced listing or promotion

 

Subscription fees:

 

• are payable in advance on a recurring basis

• must be kept up to date to maintain access to features

 

CEC reserves the right to:

 

• modify pricing with reasonable notice

• suspend or remove features where payment is not received

4. Tutor Profiles

 

Tutors are responsible for ensuring that all information provided is:

 

• accurate

• up to date

• not misleading

 

CEC reserves the right to:

 

• review profiles prior to publication

• request changes

• remove or hide profiles that are incomplete, inactive, or of insufficient quality

5. DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service)

 

Where a tutor states that they hold a DBS certificate, they must:

 

• ensure that the certificate is valid and current

• provide evidence upon request to parents or guardians

 

CEC does not independently verify DBS status unless explicitly stated.

6. Bookings & Payments

 

Tutors may receive bookings:

 

• via the platform (“Book Now”), or

• through direct arrangements with parents

 

Where platform payments are used:

 

• CEC may deduct a commission before payout

• payout schedules are provided via the tutor dashboard

• All tutors must be able to receive GBP payments via UK bank transfer. International tutors may use services such as Wise, Payoneer, Revolut, or another GBP receiving account

 

Tutors are responsible for delivering lessons as agreed.

7. Conduct & Safeguarding

 

Tutors must:

 

• act professionally at all times

• maintain appropriate safeguarding standards

• communicate respectfully with parents and students

 

CEC reserves the right to suspend or remove tutors who breach these standards.

8. Account Approval & Removal

 

CEC operates a manual approval process.

 

CEC reserves the right to:

 

• approve or reject tutor applications at its discretion

• suspend or remove accounts where necessary

9. Platform Use & Non-Circumvention

 

Tutors agree not to bypass or attempt to bypass the CEC platform in order to avoid applicable fees or commissions.

 

Tutors must not:

 

• solicit or encourage parents to arrange lessons outside the platform where “Book Now” functionality is available

• use contact details obtained through CEC to avoid platform fees

• enter into private arrangements with clients introduced through CEC for the purpose of avoiding fees

 

This restriction applies during use of the platform and for 6 months following the last interaction with a client introduced through CEC.

 

CEC reserves the right to:

 

• suspend or terminate accounts

• remove access to platform features

• recover lost fees where circumvention is identified

10. Data & Privacy

 

Tutor data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

 

Sensitive information, including payment details, is stored securely and is not publicly accessible.

11. Limitation of Liability

 

CEC acts as a platform only and is not responsible for:

 

• the quality or outcome of tutoring

• agreements made between tutors and parents

• disputes between users
