I am 42 years old and I was born and raised in Birmingham in the UK, where I lived and worked until November 2025. I am currently based in Lahore, Pakistan and fully available for remote work, with high speed internet and excellent signal strength.

 

I am a native English speaker and also fluent in Urdu, Mirpuri with a working knowledge of Punjabi. I am an experienced teacher, having taught subjects as diverse as English Literature, PSHE (Personal Social Health and Economic) Education and specialist training with children and young people in wellbeing and healing techniques such as Reiki.

 

Throughout my career, I have been committed to cultivating best practice rooted in tackling structural inequality, through providing high quality education. In Pakistan I have taught English Language and Social Studies at Junior school level and currently teach English Language and Literature at GCSE and A Level, both in person and online.

 

I have been teaching Reiki to children aged 7-13 since 2022 and have used a range of approaches to discuss topics such as healthy relationships, consent, self esteem and positive communication, focused around forgiveness and gratitude.

 

I am also a Qualified and Registered Social Worker, with 14  years of experience providing advice, guidance, and training in a diverse range of front-line social work settings. I spent 6 years working for The Birmingham Children's Trust in their missing and exploitation team. I ran exploitation awareness sessions, both in person and online with children aged 6-16 using multi media and visual aids as well as traditional textbook and paper based learning.

 

As a trainer, I have  taught cohorts of the most marginalised members of any society-women who are refugees, migrants and those seeking asylum-as community researchers. I have also supported Unaccompanied Young People Seeking Asylum through informal English Language training as well as enabling them to access psychological and welfare services.

 

Finally, I have always been passionate about taking  a diverse approach to teaching, incorporating different methods to support a range of learning styles and creating  a more inclusive virtual classroom environment.
